Hollie Bearden

My approach to therapy is positive, non-judgmental and straightforward--with a sprinkle of humor! I believe change happens when we are ready–and sometimes we need some help to make it happen. That's where I come in! If you are ready, we can work together towards the change you are seeking. We will work at your pace and you will play a primary role in setting the pace and choosing which direction we go in. I view the world in a systemic way, so I see the individual or family within the larger context of their life, considering other systems that influence us such as school, work, extended family, etc. I am trained as a brief therapist, which means I work fast and get to the issues as quickly as possible.

I am an easygoing person and I strive to make everyone who walks in my door feel comfortable. Therapy in my office is a casual interaction, so if you are looking for more formality, you won't find it with me. My office is a cozy, colorful place where you can relax and focus on you!

I have flexible office hours in order to make it easier to find a time that works with your busy life. I accept EAP and insurance, and will bill out of network if I am not on your insurance company's provider list. I also offer sliding scale appointments in order to make therapy accessible to people who are underinsured or uninsured.

In my free time I love funny movies, a good book, laughing, photography, travel and spending time with my friends and family. I am married with two beautiful sons, a big dog and two tiny cats. I love my job, and feel very lucky to share in the lives of the people I work with.

I have worked with teens and families in a wide variety of therapeutic environments for the past 10 years, in settings such as schools and community mental health agencies. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the State of Washington LF00002654 with a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University. I also hold a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Portland State University. I am a clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Washington State Approved Supervisor. I also hold the credential of Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS) and Mental Health Professional (MHP).

I enjoy working with individuals, teenagers and couples on a wide variety of issues. My focus is on self esteem/confidence, anxiety, life transitions, relationship enhancement, infertility, grief/loss and learning how to live a life that maximizes your potential. I have a particular passion for working with LGBTQ families and families dealing with gay/lesbian or sexual identity issues. This is not a complete list, so please feel free to contact me. If I am not the best fit, I will try to help you find someone who is.
